Surrey Music Academy (SMA) is an independent , educational partnership of private music teachers offering a wide range of services to schools and individuals in the UK via multiple platforms including both online and face to face teaching; tailored workshops; Masterclasses, holiday music schools and competitions. We believe that all children should be given the opportunity to receive an excellent music education. Learning an instrument gives children a skill for life, develops confidence and self-esteem and enhances cognitive development.
Back for its second year, Surrey Music Academy will open its doors again at Frensham Heights for a spectacular summer music school on Sunday 13th August - Saturday 19th August 2023.
There will be both residential and non-residential options for students and parents. It's suitable for pianists, players of orchestral instruments and singers aged 5-16. Please see Course programme and timetable.

Daily Masterclass and Visiting Artists programme is the highlight of the SMA Summer Music School, it not only gets young musicians inspired but also enriches their musicianship.

Who can attend?
Aimed at all talented young musicians aged 5-16 and all grades come and get creative this summer and pursue your musical passions at Frensham Heights School. There will be Masterclasses across a range of instruments, varies of ensembles, Chamber Music groups, and two orchestras both Junior (Grade 1-3) and SMA Senior orchestra which are school age orchestral instrument players, working from approximately Grade4 to Grade 8+ level. Our team also creatively designed a Mini Musicianship programme specially for beginners, integrating singing, dancing, acting and music making to inspire their musicality. The mini musicians and juniors will also be performing with the main orchestra and professional musicians on the same stage during our Gala concert.
Where and when will SMA workshop take place?
SMA International Summer Music School will take place at Frensham Heights School surrounded by the beautiful Surrey Hills on 13-19th August 2023.
